Salt fields in Khok Kham Subdistrict are a shelter for migratory birds that fly to live during the cold weather in Siberia, covered in snow and ice. These birds migrate because this area is warm and provides food. Salt fields and mangrove beaches in the inner Gulf of Thailand are the places where the most migratory shorebirds can be found in Thailand. When the tide is high, these shorebirds fly into the salt fields to feed and rest until the tide is low, when they will fly out to feed on the mangrove beaches again.
